QUEERNL ... Who are we ?

Welcome to the website of QueerNL which is a collective of queer people in The Netherlands.

QueerNL was started by organising a Queer Bloc at the Nederland Bekent Kleur, an anti-racism demonstration, in March 2008. Some 30 of us came together to march at this event, under the banner of `Queers against Racism''. Anyone living in, or visiting The Netherlands, and has an interest in Queer activism, theory, organising, etc are welcome to join us. QueerNL is a group of people as well as a platform for queer actvities. If you want to organise a queer evening involving a demonstration, a street action, an art show, poetry reading, or whatever you can queerise, come and do it with us !

We really dont know what we are exactly, but the following works for us :

QueerNL  is an autonomous non-funded collective of queers and queerfriendlies in the process of formation. We unabashedly wish to make The Netherlands queer, to make the mainstream gay community engage with its commercialisation and exclusion, and to work with activist groups on race, gender and class.
